February 9, 2025The Blindspot of Traditional Psychotherapy

Many different periods have passed in the history of treating mental illness, marked by experimentation, reductionism, anachronistic beliefs based on religion and sometimes even cruelty. We find ourselves in 2025 where mainstream therapy perceives mental illness as a physical problem that originates in some sort of chemical imbalance in the brain, the solution to which entails psychiatric medication that is expected to restore the balance.
Approaching the human soul in a mechanistic and oversimplified manner feels soul-crushing for the suffering individual, and reduces the human life to a series of chemical reactions. I, amongst many other people, believe that we humans, have a soul. Each one of us has a purpose in the life, a purpose for which we chose to be here before we were even born. This process of finding your own purpose and building a life that allows you to fulfil that quest, is one of the most important tasks in our lives.
Even though some cases of psychopathology are easy to define and treat with the tools that traditional psychotherapy offers, some are not. We could make a case that some of the mental illness of this world is a byproduct of living an inauthentic life, following social constructs that were imposed from a very young age that don’t align with our heart’s true desires. There is a longing in our hearts for something deeper, a higher purpose that needs to be served, but life’s difficulties obstruct our vision and we get lost in mundane matters. That’s when pain and misalignment manifests as mental illness, as depression, anxiety, OCD, etc. So how do you reconnect your your soul’s true desire? How do you make the decision to start anew and live life the way your were supposed to?
Spiritual psychotherapy offers the tools to release the pain of the past and embrace the fullness of the present, accepting your birthright: a full happy life. The synergy of intuition and scientific methods can accelerate the healing process, allowing you to transform your life. According to your liking, there are many tools and ways to follow the path of Spiritual Healing: Cacao Ceremonies, Hypnotherapy, Meditation, Shamanic Journeys, Herbalism as well as Spiritual Retreats. Each one of these tools resonates in a different frequency to each one of us, something that allows me to intuitively select what can be of help for my clients. One of the things I have learned throughout my three decades long practice is that everyone needs a different combination of healing modalities, something my method, The Anagenesis Method can provide. If you are located in Los Angeles and wish to let go of preconceived notions about what life is all about, heal your trauma and live the life of your dreams, feel free to contact me and begin your Healing Journey.
