Do You Remember Your Soul’s Purpose?
February 9, 2025Overcoming Fear and Childhood Trauma: Scared of the “Tigers”

I Was Five When I First Saw the Tigers
I remember lying in bed, my eyes wide open, the silence of the night pierced only by the sound of my own heartbeat. The tigers were there—under the bed, in the shadows, behind the door. They weren’t real, but my fear was.
As children, our minds create monsters to make sense of the chaos we don’t understand. For some of us, those monsters don’t leave. They just grow quieter, sneakier, and eventually live inside us.

Fear Doesn’t Grow Up—We Just Learn to Ignore It
The “tigers” I feared as a child evolved into anxiety, self-doubt, people-pleasing, and emotional numbing. In my work as a psychotherapist, I’ve seen how many of us live with these silent tigers long into adulthood—unconsciously reacting, avoiding, or overcompensating.
We may not call it trauma. We may not even remember the event. But our nervous system does. It holds onto fear, quietly shaping how we trust, love, and live.
What Are Your Tigers?
- Is it the fear of being abandoned?
- The fear of not being enough?
- The fear of speaking your truth?
We each carry our own version of the tiger. Some have learned to hide it well. Others are still running.
But here’s the truth: your tigers can be met with compassion, not avoidance.

Healing Through the Anagenesis Method
In my practice, I help clients gently return to the roots of their fear using the Anagenesis Method—a therapeutic process where science embraces spiritual wisdom. We reconnect with the inner child, create safety in the body, and allow emotions to move, heal, and transform.
This is not about “fixing” yourself. It’s about remembering who you were before the tigers arrived.
